Senior Guidewire Developer

Assignment description
As a Senior Guidewire Developer, you are responsible for the implementation of our cloud-based Guidewire InsuranceSuite.
You will, together with your team, design, develop and deploy robust solutions using good engineering and agile practices, and continuously evolve them over time.
It is important that you can navigate easily between various parts of the system and discuss technical solutions with cross-functional teams also outside of the Guidewire InsuranceSuite context.

About the team
4-5 team members

Must haves

  • Proficiency in Java, Gosu, JSON and REST
  • Certification as a Guidewire Developer, with expertise in at least two core applications (Policy Center & Billing Center or Claims Center), including Integration
  • At least one Cloud Ready (Ace) certification
  • At least 5 years of experience in Guidewire InsuranceSuite implementation projects
  • Experience in Guidewire InsuranceSuite Cloud implementation projects
  • Experience and drive to ensure quality is built into the product
  • Willingness to write tests in the Guidewire test framework for your code
  • Experience in Behaviour Driven Development methodology
  • Experience in writing GUnit tests for your code
  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies and modern Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with DevOps principles and technologies, emphasizing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
  • Proven experience in GIT
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience working in an enterprise-scale insurance domain with large, complex system landscapes

Other requirements

  • A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience with a BPMN/Workflow engine (preferably with Guidewire Autopilot)
  • Experience in writing behavioural tests – both UI and API (preferably Karate – both JavaScript and Java or GT framework)
  • Experience with Apache Camel (preferably within the Integration Gateway application)
  • Experience in performance testing
  • Ability to drive modernization efforts and advocate for continuous improvement in engineering practices
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to insurance and financial technology
